If you’re still treating user-generated content as a “nice to have” sitting outside your
core marketing budget, the numbers say it’s time to reconsider. UGC and creator-
economy statistics are among the most searched marketing topics of the year, and
the data behind the trend is hard to ignore.
Start with trust. Deloitte Digital’s most recent research found that 83% of consumers
see the creators and influencers they follow as trusted sources of information – a
level of credibility traditional brand advertising simply cannot buy. In a region like the
GCC, where word-of-mouth and community recommendation have always driven
purchasing decisions, that trust gap matters even more.
Then look at performance. Meta’s own testing across roughly 2,400 advertisers
found that adding creator content to standard campaigns delivered a 19% lower cost
per acquisition and a 13% higher click-through rate. TikTok’s data tells a similar
story: Spark Ads built on creator content achieved a 43% higher conversion rate,
142% more engagement and 30% better completion rates than standard in-feed ads.
This isn’t a “soft” benefit anymore – it’s outperforming polished brand content on the
hardest metrics marketers track.
And the spend is following the results. The IAB projects $37 billion in creator-
economy ad spend in the US for 2025 alone, growing roughly four times faster than
total media spend. Yet by most estimates, only around one in five brands is currently
using influencer or UGC marketing in a structured way. That gap is the opportunity:
the brands moving first, while adoption is still low, stand to capture disproportionate
attention before the space gets crowded.
For brands budgeting for 2027, the practical takeaway is to stop treating UGC as a
one-off campaign add-on and start building it into always-on strategy – sourcing real
community voices, not just macro-influencers; securing usage rights so content can
be repurposed across paid and owned channels; and measuring it against the same
acquisition and conversion metrics as any other spend, because the data shows it
can hold its own.
This is exactly the thinking behind how we approach UGC at TishTash – tapping into
genuine community platforms rather than manufacturing content that only looks
authentic. The brands who treat UGC as infrastructure, not decoration, are the ones
who’ll be best placed heading into next year.
