Q & A time with our lovely Alex
- How long have you been in Dubai and why did you move here?
I have lived in Dubai for about three and a half years now. I moved here for work – I was offered a job back in the UK and decided to make the move to have more sunshine in my life – we all know how rainy the UK can be!
- Favourite hair salon/spa in Dubai?
The Mane Salon in JLT, it is owned by Anthony Walsh who is amazing.
- Favourite store/mall in Dubai?
Home and Soul on Al Wasl Road – it’s the dreamiest home concept store. Every time I visit the store I am tempted to totally redecorate my apartment.
- What is your current favourite beauty essential and why?
Good Genes by Sunday Riley, it really is a cult product and actually does what it says on the bottle.
- Top 3 items in your make-up bag?
By Terry Cellularose Brightening CC Serum (holy grail product), the Soleil Tan De Chanel bronzer and the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish powder.
- Your skincare regime?
In the evening, I smother my face with the Clarins Pure Melt Cleanser to loosen up my make-up and then use the Bioderma solution to remove the rest of the make-up/dirt from the day. I then wash my face with the Obagi Foaming Gel and finish off with the Sunday Riley Good Genes serum (which I use every other night) or the Obagi Retinal on the alternative nights.
In the mornings, I wash my face with the Obagi Foaming Gel and then wipe over with the Obagi toner. Once my face is dry I pop a little of the Vitamin C solution from Alpha H on and finish with the Sunday Riley CEO face cream (it smells incredible and fresh).
- Favourite fragrance?
I’m wearing Gabrielle by Chanel at the moment, but I do always like to mix it up every now and then.
- Top 3 to follow on IG?
I love @somethingnavy, she has great style and the cutest family (mum goals!), I also follow @lydiaemillen for all things beauty and I am also loving her home/decorating updates. Last but not least, @wearetwinset who are two fab stylists from the UK – I literally want to buy everything they post!
- Who is your celebrity style inspiration?
It has pretty much always been Olivia Palermo, she has never had a bad outfit day and she never tries too hard. I also love Kristin Cavallari’s style – it’s quite casual but with an edge.
- Favourite place to shop for all things beauty?
It has to be Cult Beauty – they really do have the best of the best!
